The podcast series HATCHET MAN tells the tale of a little-known but extraordinary Albanian television series that aired in 1996 and ushered in social chaos and civil war.

Was Hatchet Man the greatest television series ever? Each week at the end of this notorious TV show, quaint and sentimental characters were abruptly massacred by a hatchet-wielding masked man. It was always brutal, senseless, despicable … and it became a massive hit. What exactly was going on? And who could have made such a sensational abomination?
